The Brown Group, an architectural design and construction management firm, has been designing and building elegant projects throughout the Midwest region since 1976. Principal architect Martin Brown AIA, has been the creative force behind well over 300 design/build projects from Wisconsin to Texas and from Colorado to Georgia. Projects have included commercial, residential, industrial, religious, sports facilities, offices, tenant finish and property development.

When the firm was founded in 1976, the design/build concept, which kept control of the project in the hands of the architect throughout the construction phase, was virtually unheard of in this part of the country. However, Mr. Brown saw early on in the firm’s development, the distinct advantages of the architect having construction management responsibilities over his projects. Who better to have control of the building process than the person who conceived the design. Advantages such as having a single contact person throughout the entire project; quick field decisions and detail sketches saving time and money and discounted, detailed original invoice billings so every client knows exactly where and how his money was spent for his or her particular project. Over the years, The Brown Group has provided construction management services for approximately 95% of the projects for which they have provided architectural design services.
